Introducing… Hazlett

Australian folk musician Hazlett brings together muted acoustic guitars, a light foot tap and hazy, dreamy layered vocals for his latest single. ‘Do You Haunt Me’ is one of those songs that acts as the perfect introduction to an artist who has their sound nailed down. Hazlett now lives in Sweden and I dare say their knack for delivering a simple and emotive hook has rubbed off on him.

Speaking about the new single:

Someone once told me healing isn’t linear. Like all good advice though it’s a tough thing to remember when you’re going through it. There’ll be dead ends, there’ll be mistakes and there will be plenty of advice from the sidelines along the way. But this was just a little ode to still attempt to remind myself for every step that feels backwards, in the grand scheme of things it’s actually a profound lunge forward to where we need to be. Even when it doesn’t feel like it.

Hazlett

‘Do You Haunt Me’ was born during Hazlett’s stay in a log cabin, songwriting. He only intended for that trip to make a single EP but there were so many emotions, that Hazlett wrote enough songs for two. The forthcoming EP, which he called ‘Side B’ will be called the second part of ‘Goodbye to the Valley Low’ and comes out on the 4th of October.

Enjoy the track below, it’s out now. For more information visit Hazlett’s website.
