I’ve been having a bit of a synth pop or future pop revival in my music collection – probably because of the late summer bloom here in the UK and my new evening cider habit. Mood Robot fits this sunset mood perfectly. Lush synths warble, vocoder and real voice collide and overlay each other and plenty of retro future production values means everything in their tracks creates a wall of sound that is both inviting and fun. After showing some early tracks in 2014, the trio have been quiet but are releasing several singles ahead of their first EP due February 2017. The first of these is the lovely “Ghost” and is highly recommended for synth pop, 80’s pop and tech pop lovers.
