Video Vault – Bjork

As my favourite Icelandic siren continues her avant garde path into more obscure electronica, her new album Utopia, is coming – and in typical style Bjork has not sat still. In some ways, “The Gate” is probably the most un-single like track she’s released as a single to date. It’s stop/start and discordant nature initially makes it quite difficult to listen to as a surface piece – but when paired with the sublime music video, it all comes together. Something tells me its more of an emotional significance rather than a representative album piece – but it makes me very excited to see where the new album heads sonically.
