cello dream pop electronica Introducing... violin

Introducing… Speaker Face

Hypnotic cello-tronica

Speaker Face is a wonderful mash up of electronica, cello, violin and voice. The trio contain two members of instrumental band The Fretless – Trent Freeman and Eric Wright. They bring the electronica, violin and cello elements with them. They are joined by the haunting and calming voice of Ruby Randall to create Speaker Face. The result is something that feels both slinky and like hearing club music outside the Albert Hall. Speaker Face say they approach using the violin like a ‘groove machine’ so expect to hear the instrument used in unusual ways.

The trio are preparing to release their new album ‘Crescent’ on the 9th of October. Their lead single is called ‘Phosphorescence’ and it showcases different accents of Speaker Face’s sound and I find the single hypnotic. It never peaks – it meanders beautifully around and then fades away into mystery. Enjoy the track below.
