Vox Rea are entering a new era for the band. Previously known as The Katherines, the original trio has now become a quartet and decided to change their name as they adapt to a more nuanced sound. The quartet create noir-pop – the dark and brooding side of pop centric music – and it comes from their varieties of influences. Sisters Kate and Lauren come to the band from a classical side and bring with them violin and piano. Kaitlyn and Mitchell bring the more chill out pop side of things. with the percussion and guitars. Together they make the kind of music I imagine will land placements in all kinds of sassy and gritty drama shows.
Their new single for this new era is ‘Dose Me Up’ and it leans on all of their skills and influences to create a cinematic pop experience. In their previous incarnation their debut album spawned over a million streams and I expect Vox Rea to be easily as success. Enjoy the new single below.
