One of my favourite albums of the year is Lida Pimienta’s ‘Miss Columbia‘. It is vibrant, heartfelt and full of culture and heritage. She is also a big advocate for multiple causes and charities. As part of a KEXP ‘And To All A Good Home’ selection of live performances for charity, Lido performs various songs from her two albums and has an extended interview afterwards. These are ‘stripped-down’ performances in a sense – with a lack of huge keyboards and synths but a large percussion ensemble.
