Anneke is no stranger to music. Her forthcoming album ‘The Darkest Skies Are The Brightest’ will be the 23rd in her career. Having been in bands previously, Anneke Van Giersbergen forged her solo career back in 2007 and has been gaining a dedicated following ever since. Her new single ‘My Promise’ mixes up various elements of European folk alongside her beautifully evocative voice. Anneke refuses to be pigeonholed into a specific genre as I first heard of her music with the band Within Temptation and she is also well known in the metal space and Icelandic folk world too.
