Singer-songwriter Adrianne Lenker is someone I’ve not had the chance to feature on Higher Plain Music yet. Today that is rectified as I can showcase her absolutely beautiful KEXP Live at Home performance on the site. Well… I say home. She’s actually chilling on a beachfront but it is the perfect setting for her lilting acoustic guitar and faraway bittersweet voice.
Adrianne Lenker has been releasing music solo for seven years but many will also know her from the increasingly popular band Big Thief. What I think this performance shows is that you can come from either side of her musical spectrum and fall absolutely in love with her cadence and flow of her voice and guitar work. It is simple, clean and extremely effective at setting off some emotions.
