Mixing up classic rock ala T-Rex with some vintage pop and psychedelic undertones, Sunfields have been playing together since 2009. Fans of Tom Petty will feel right at home but I came to Sunfields music via the lens of Marc Bolan instead. One of my earliest memories of music came from T-Rex and I can hear elements of that style of music clearly throughout Sunfields music. The band have just enough vintage, psyche and jangly edge to keep them from being easily shoved into any one of the three corners exclusively and that keeps me coming back for more.
‘Late Bloomers’ will be Sunfields fourth album and it is due out on the 12th of March. The crunchy rock lead single ‘Got Some (But It Ain’t Enough)’ is a lighthearted poke at the notion of how easy it is to get down in life without counting what you’ve got already. Oh, capitalism and commercialism! Tsk tsk, you have much to answer for. Enjoy the single below, which is out now. The album is available for pre-order too.
