I have a bit of a thing for artists that become a one-man band and loop instruments around them to create their music. Two of my favourites are Tash Sultana and Juana Molina. Alexander Hulme is a singer-songwriter who does just that too. Using loops from his guitar to create melodies and beats, I find this such an amazing skill when done right and Alexander Hulme pulls it off with ease. His style of music is a little more pop-rock than my usual taste but I can hear the way the loops are stacked up upon each other and there is a breezy smile to his music that I just clicked with.
‘Lightning’ is the new single from Alexander Hulme. It comes from his forthcoming EP ‘Slow Down’ which is currently slated for a 12th of November release. ‘Lightning’ is about a walk around Liverpool and the characters you pass by, barely touching your life. Sounds like it’s full of as many characters there as it is down here in good old Essex! Enjoy the track below, it is out now. You can find more info about Alexander Hulme on his website.
