Somehow this standalone single escaped my knowledge until 6.30am this morning. I’ve been having something of a struggle physically this year (the joys of what I can only assume is long covid). Stumbling across Caribou’s new single ‘ You Can Do It’ certainly perked up my emotions. The track is a quirky but rapturous house track where the title is sung on repeat quickly. For me, just like one of the readers, the lyrics blur into ‘get it dog’ and when you see the awesome music video, you’ll know why.
Created by Richard Kenworthy, the video is a collection of puppies running in slow motion and then taking giant leaps to catch frisbees. It is one of the happiest, wholesome videos I’ve seen in ages and together with the gloriously upbeat track, works in harmony to lift your mood. I challenge anyone to watch this and not feel somewhat happier afterwards. The single is out now.
