Art art installation electronica percussion

Josh Green creates percussive light installations that feel like synesthesia

A percussive light installation creator.

Josh Green is a percussion player who marries up sound and drum samples with light shows. As he hits sample pads or drum skins, the lights installed in his light shows flicker or change colours and hues. It’s a wild way to merge percussive art and art installations and I really like the ideas behind it. Below are two specific videos that I particularly enjoyed. The first takes place in a defunct nuclear turbine and the second takes place inside a bamboo forest.
