I discovered Mitski with her most recent album ‘Be The Cowboy‘ and fell in love with her dramatic indie rock flair. It is one of my favourite albums of the last three years. Now after a couple of years away, Mitski returns. ‘The Only Heartbreaker’ is the second single for her newly announced forthcoming album ‘Laurel Hell’. The album is out 4th February 2022 but the single is out now. It features a mixture of very 80’s synths, big drum machines, a crazy synth solo and Mitski’s lost and powerful vocals being as devastating as ever. The music video is a fantastical affair where everything Mitski touches rots and returns to the Earth, only for it to explode in flames. Just you’ve average break up then!
