It’s always a bright and joyous day when The Go! Team release a new song. “Divebomb” is the first single from their forthcoming album ‘Get Up Sequences Part 2″. It follows on from Part 1 which was released last year and I found it particularly groovy. The single reminds me of some of their earlier work where rowdy indie rock mashes together with playground chants and rap in a lo-fi setting. Ian Parton, one of the band members described the album as “a global fruit salad.”
“Divebomb” features the vocal talents of IndigoYaj, a Detroit-based rapper. The song is a protest about abortion rights that lands a meaning whilst being a musical riot too. The album itself will feature other guests such as Stereo’s Hilarie Bratset, Lucie Too’s Kokubo Chisato, Neha Hatwar, the Star Feminine Band and Nitty Scott. I’m sure it’ll be a blast.
