Composer, songwriter and producer Fie Eike is often inspired by Nordic sophistication and mystery. She aims to create songs that work like music geography that you can move through and experience. From her Norwegian roots to her current home in Copenhagen, Fie uses her memories of The North Sea, Danish forests and the mountains of Norway to create melodic art-pop that has a sepia ennui and elegance to it. When not creating music, Fie Eike also creates sound installations for art exhibitions, often exploring the relationship between humans and nature.
Fie Eike’s forthcoming debut solo album will continue exploring these themes. Her fourth single is titled ‘Deep End’ and features sumptuous piano, layered vocals and glacial ambient synths. It sounds somewhere between early Sarah Slean and a more gothic cabaret version of ethereal folk musicians like Emiliana Torrini. The track is beautiful in how it balances both an innocence and a pained tone.
