I’ve absolutely had enough of enshittification and generative AI being shovelled into my eyes and ears. I don’t want it. I don’t need it. I am in complete rebellion against generative AI and will never use it in my lifetime. It seems that folk artist Luke Nickle is feeling similarly. I stumbled across his banjo-toting track ‘Fuck Your AI’ this week, and it perfectly articulates every emotion I feel about this era of technology. The lyrics sizzle with superb rhyming, and Luke delivers each line at terminal velocity. The song ends with the message that this future of AI hell is not inevitable:
you said the chance
that we all die is
around 1 in 5 – was that hype?
or are you really
generating genocide?With academics in-absentia
I’ll absorb all information
I’ll award insects associate’s
In artform inhalation
get affordable internment
or acute immiseration
get an artificial income in
your ant incarcerationI’m apparently infinite and
approaching indelible
my apocryphal impasse is
about impregnable
an age of instability is
almost irrevocable but hey
a-hole inquisitors
it still ain’t inevitable
Bravo! So, just as Luke declares:
I’ve got my brain and
I’ve got my eyes
they look into my
head sometimes
so then my mouth
can speak my mind
I think therefore
fuck your AI. . . .
