Singer-songwriter and producer AnSoFi has released her bewitching debut single ‘Love and Fear’ this month. The piano and vocal-led track showcase her melodic and emotional talents. The track often features two different piano motifs, one rising, one falling and they allow AnSoFi’s vocals to captivate you in between. It’s icy, cinematic, emotive and serene too.
AnSoFi is the moniker of Anne Sofie Strandheim Eike who hails from Denmark and Norway. Her music is inspired by Nordic mythology and folklore, Stylistically, fans of Agnes Obel and Susanne Sundfor will be in for a treat although vocally AnSoFi reminds me of the innocence of Emiliana Torrini too. ‘Love and Fear’ is utterly captivating in its own right though and kicks off what sounds like a curious and engrossing career ahead.
