I’ve covered Sylvette’s many times over recent years as they continue to be one of my favourite discoveries of alternative music in recent years. This beautiful rendition of Björk’s ‘Hyper-ballad’ encompasses everything that the band do so well. It’s a fresh take on the classic anthem whilst staying true to its roots. I was desperately hoping to get to this very gig but was unable to do so (and if I had you’d have read a review of it here). This little gem showcases Sylvette as a superb live act as well as a creative studio band too. If you enjoy your alternative music in the UK, catch them on the road where you can.
